Our technology can also be used in the context of peritoneal dialysis (PD) as shown. The dialysate can be continuously “cleaned” so that its chemistry remains the same as when the dialysate was initially placed in the abdomen. Using this approach, significantly less dialysate concentrated solution would be needed both when patients perform PD at night or in the context of a wearable PD device. The result is less frequent changes of the dialysate solution by the PD patient during each session.
